Flintel

Use case

Find buyers and leads on Reddit

People often say what they are looking for on Reddit before they ever talk to a vendor: “what do you use for …?”, “alternatives to …”, “we have budget and need to switch”. Flintel searches Reddit conversations about your topic, labels each post by what its author is actually asking for, and links every result back to the original post, so you can read it before you act on it.

What Flintel looks for

Flintel works from Reddit posts it has collected. For a brand, product or topic you type in, it looks for conversations such as:

Each result is a Reddit post with a summary, its subreddit, its posted date, a sentiment, and an intent label. You can add a website address to your search so it reflects what your business does, and you can ask for a time range, for example “from today” or “the last 7 days”.

Reddit only, today. Reddit is the only platform Flintel searches. Other platforms are not available yet, and nothing on this page applies to them.

How the intent labels work

Every post in the results table gets one intent label, shown with a short reason and, where one exists, an excerpt from the post. Labels are based on what the post itself says. Flintel matches each analysed post to the stored Reddit post, and a row it cannot verify is shown as Uncertain instead of High or Medium.

High a qualified lead

The author asks for a solution in your category and states an explicit purchase step: an approved budget, a committed decision to buy, sign, subscribe or switch, or an active procurement process. The post also has to fit what you searched for.

Medium a prospective buyer still researching

The author asks for recommendations or compares tools, but no confirmed purchase step is stated. It is also used when a purchase step is stated but the post only partly matches your search.

Low discussion, competitor promotion or testimonial

The author is not asking for a tool for themselves (general discussion), is a vendor promoting their own product, or is describing a tool they already use. These show what the market is saying, not buyer demand.

Uncertain could not be confirmed

The post asks for a solution, but its relevance to your search is unclear, no supporting excerpt could be found, or the analysis for that row could not be verified. Read these yourself before deciding anything.

What “qualified lead” means here

Only a post labelled High is a qualified lead. Budget, timing, a trial or demo, and willingness to pay are shown as signals, but none of them qualifies a lead on its own. A purchase statement that is conditional, hypothetical, on hold, about someone else, or already in the past does not count as a purchase step.

That is a deliberately strict definition. A search can return many useful conversations and no qualified leads, and that is a normal result. Flintel does not relabel posts to make a result look better.

An example workflow

Say you sell invoicing software to freelancers. This is an illustration of how to read results, not real Flintel output, and the posts below are made up.

  1. Search “invoicing software for freelancers”, with your website address if you want the search to reflect your product. Add “from the last 7 days” if you only want recent posts.
  2. Read the summary to see what people are asking for and complaining about, then scan the source posts table.
  3. Work through the labels. Open the High and Medium posts first and read the originals. Skim Low posts for market context, such as which competitors people mention.
  4. Check each post yourself before you reply or reach out: the date, the subreddit’s rules on self-promotion, and whether your product really fits.
Budget is approved. We’re moving off spreadsheets for invoicing this month and need something that handles recurring clients.

HighAsks for a solution and states an approved budget and a decision to switch.

What do you all use for invoicing as a freelancer? Looking for suggestions.

MediumAsks for recommendations; no purchase step is stated.

I’ve used the same invoicing app for three years and it’s been great.

LowA testimonial about a tool already in use: market proof, not demand.

Common questions

Does Flintel give me a list of leads?

No. It gives you Reddit posts matching your search, each with an intent label, a reason, and a link to the original. Whether a post is a lead for you is your decision after reading it.

Which platforms does it search?

Reddit only. Other platforms are not available yet.

Why does a search sometimes show zero qualified leads?

Because the definition is strict. Many people asking for a tool have not stated a budget, a decision or a procurement step. Those posts appear as Medium instead, and they can still be worth reading.

Can I limit results to recent posts?

Yes. Add a time range to your search, such as “from today” or “the last 7 days”.
